We sat down with Ani Shirinian, fellow lawyer and Designer and Founder of Victoria Six. Her jewelry designs are best described as collaboration between classic pearls, vintage style and modern design. We learned about her journey as a designer and how she likes to style her jewelry. Here's what she had to say:
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was raised primarily by my grandmother. I was always around her in her sewing room when she was designing and making clothes with lace and pearls and gemstones. I always knew I wanted to be in fashion. It was in my heart but I ended up going to UCLA eventually and then to law school.

How did you transition from law to design?
Well, I did and I didn't. I'm still a practicing attorney but I went to Parsons School of Design in New York City then came back here to L.A. and to get a job in jewelry where I ended up working for an engagement jewelry designer named Michael B where he taught me everything he knew for about 7 years until he passed.
I wear these statement pieces for an understated classic yet bold look.

Why did you start your own company?
I thought there was a gap in the industry. I didn’t think there was a pearl company that related to younger girls or even people working, women who wanted a modern look instead of grandma’s style pearls. So I started designing things that I like to wear.
How did you get introduced to Access79?
I met Priyanka, Access79's CEO and Co-Founder at a jewelry show and a few year later we reconnected! Once she told me about the company I wanted to become part of it. I believe in what they are doing and they offer something this is different than what everyone else has to offer.
